Movies with Live Soundtracks" consist of a group of filmmakers who make short
films and videos with no sound and perform all the audio tracks live. We teamed up
the ladies at Plain Parade booking to host the kids from "MWLS"
on the Philly stop of their tour. We decided to hold the screening at the Fire, a north Philly bar
that allowed all ages shows and had a stage for musical performances. Some
locals made videos and sound performances for the show. It seemed like everything was
great idea until Ted arrived at the club early and found out that they had accidentally
double booked the show at the same time as a fireman's retirement party. We had to start
things a bit late to make up for this but some of the firemen stayed after the others
went to the bar. It was an interesting crowd dynamic but not as interesting as the door
man who proved he could withstand a stun gun while some of the firemen egged him on.
